Tamar is the online manager for Shma.com, the companion website to the print journal Sh'ma. In her capacity as online manager Tamar manages Sh'ma's social media presence, gathers artwork for the online gallery each month, and edits The S Blog, which features the writing of over thirty contributors from across the spectrum of Jewish life.

As a consultant for Hand in Hand Tamar copyedited the content on their new website. When the content was ready to go, Tamar worked with the team of developers to put the content on the site, and manages the content going forward.

Tamar is the creator and host of Talking in Shul, a monthly roundtable podcast featuring three Jewish women bringing three very different perspectives into conversation. Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and non-denominational backgrounds come together as Tamar, Zahava Stadler, and Mimi Lewis discuss Jewish life (contemporary wedding variations), Jewish culture (a modern look at Fiddler on the Roof), and current events (the Hobby Lobby case before the Supreme Court). Talking in Shul is one of the Open Quorum family of podcasts. Open Quorum is a platform for creating, curating, and promoting Jewish ideas and creative expression, primarily by means of online audio production.

Tamar is an elected official. In May 2014 Tamar ran for City Committeeperson in the 30th ward 10th division in the City of Philadelphia. This is a Democratic Party position, and was a contested race. Tamar won by a single vote, proving once again that every vote really does count.
In June 2014 the Democratic party of the 30th ward held their organizing meeting. Tamar was elected secretary of the 30th ward, under ward leader Marcia Wilkof.
